Hope For Telangana’s Conjoined Twins Veena And Vani?:- The below written story gives a spark of hope to conjoined twins - Veena and Vani, of Telangana’s Nalgonda district.

Since birth, the 14 year old twins are conjoined.

In one of the most complex surgeries performed on conjoined twins, a 30-member strong team at Pennsylvania’s children’s hospital successfully separated two girls fused together at the head.

The surgery that was performed on June 7, was all the more complicated given that the twins were barely only 10 months old. The conjoined twins Erin and Abby Delaney, shared blood vessels and the protective membrane around their brains had to be carefully separated during the 11-hour surgery. To perform the reconstruction on each girl, the surgeons then split into two groups. To differentiate each girl, the surgery equipment such as monitors and tape were marked with green or a purple tape.

In last July, Erin and Abby were delivered prematurely by Caesarean section. After the parents of the twins, found out they were expecting conjoined twins 11 weeks into mother Heather’s pregnancy, they sought specialist pre-natal care.
