TS CM Requests PM To Allot Secunderabad Parade Grounds To Build Secretariat Complex

The Telangana State (TS) Chief Minister (CM) K. Chandrasekhar Rao, yesterday, has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for allotment of the Secunderabad Parade Grounds to the State to build the Secretariat complex.

KCR, earlier met the former Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar, with a request to allot the Bison Polo Ground that is adjacent to the Parade Grounds, for the same purpose. However, the TS CM’s request was not accepted that time.

During yesterday’s meeting with the PM, KCR sought the Parade Grounds saying, the state government will allot the same extent of land to the defence ministry at some other place. The TS CM also put forth a series of requests to the PM, stating that all the promises and commitments made in the AP Reorganization Act, should be implemented. And one such commitment includes the increase in the number of Assembly seats and bifurcation of the Hyderabad High Court.

The one-on-one meeting with the PM lasted for over an hour. Later, KCR met law and IT Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad. KCR also requested Modi to exempt agriculture-related and agriculture-dependent trades from the Income Tax, connected with the agriculture sector. He felt that by giving IT exemptions to trades, people scraping out a livelihood from these trades will benefit the most.
