Nara Lokesh Takes Oath As Member Of MLC

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's son Nara Lokesh, took oath as a member of the State Legislative Council (MLC).

This has finally paved the way for him, to become part of the State cabinet.

The oath was taken, in the presence of Legislative Council Chairman, Chakrapani, today.

Lokesh was sworn in the Business Advisory Committee room in the legislature complex, while other newly-elected members were sworn in inside the Council hall.

The swearing ceremony was done, apparently to enable the Vedic scholars, to chant hymns after he administered the oath.

Chandrababu Naidu, is reportedly planning to reshuffle his cabinet on April 2 and eight to ten new ministers are likely to be included, in the cabinet.

And Nara Lokesh and Bhuma Akhila Priya are confirmed to get Cabinet berths with one to be filled under minority quota.

The probable candidates under the minority quota are, MLAs Jaleel Khan, Chand Basha and MLC M A Shareef.

Naidu has informed Governor ESL Narasimhan regarding the changes in the Cabinet, during the pre-Ugadi celebrations, held at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Earlier this month, Lokesh was elected to the Council under the MLAs' quota, on March 10 alongside four others, from the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

This development, comes after TDP bagged all three MLC seats in the recent polls to the AP Legislative Council, under the Local Authorities Constituencies quota on March 20.

Lokesh is likely to be made a minister soon, and the Cabinet expansion is likely to take place in the first week of April, according to sources.

Lokesh has been part of the TDP, since the 2009 elections. He officially joined the party in 2013.
