Power Star Pawan Kalyan addressed a press conference today. He spoke about Andhra Pradesh special category status. He criticised the Andhra Pradesh government. He also spoke about Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

He said “The main reason for me to support Chandrababu Naidu is because of his administrative experience. During 2004 elections I said that people need Chandrababu Naidu's administrative experience. Just because of his administrative experience, he is not taking special category issue forward is highly wrong. He should correct it. You are questioning what are the benefits from special status which you did not get a from special package. You only said that you supported demonetization. then you said people are facing problems due to demonetization. You are only changing your statements five times, you have so much experience. Still, you are changing statements then why shouldn't I think that you can change statements on the special category also? Why did you compromise? On what basis you were forced, you compromised? Tell me the reasons. You don't need to answer me. You are answerable to people who gave you vote and made you come into power.”

He added “I only have one request from Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. We want a Golden Andhra Pradesh but Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said Polavaram contracts have been given to some companies. Farmers were complaining that soil from the project was being thrown into farming lands. Like this many issues have come up regarding Polavaram Project. If Lee Kuan Yew, First Singapore Premier is your inspiration, how he punished his people who did corruption, in the same way on Srujana Chowdary or Rayapati Sambasiva Rao launch an expert committee on them. For a team with judiciary people, who are experienced who will investigate on this kind of projects. This will help you gain a good name. But if you stay calm and listen to whatever Srujana Chowdary says or does, it is not good for you.”

“We want good governance. I am very angry, That day when youths wanted to do peaceful protest in Vizag, you should have permitted them. They have decided themselves. It is not some kind of protest by any political party. They wanted to do silent protest on January 26, Republic Day because the huge crowd will gather so that everyone can collectively voice to the centre. You should have allowed them for at least 1 hour. My only request to Venkaiah Nadu or to Chandrababu Naidu is I respect you and your experience but just explain to media why I shouldn't voice for the people and talk about their problem.”

“Firstly, will you give special category status to Andhra Pradesh, much before that how many statements did you change? Firstly you said you will give not for 5 years you said 10 years, 15 years. You said special package, why people are not trusting special package? I will tell you, Chandrababu Naidu. When separating AP, when you could not give special status, you gave a special category and said both are same. Why do you need to give it at midnight? If it is really for people, why you need to announce it in hurry in midnight? It is your fault. Previously, addressing a rally in Anantapur, I had told why the special package is not correct. I went to Delhi. I met finance commission members, secretaries. I took expert opinion from five people. I only explained what they have told me.”

When asked that Chandrababu Naidu is scared of you, he said " No one can fear anyone. In this democracy, i am just pointing out the policies. But they are getting scared by me it's not my problem."
