Army justifies blockage of roads

The Army authorities are in no mood to compromise on the blockage of roads passing through AOC Centre from February 25. The Army has imposed a ban on traffic moving from SP Road/East Marredpally towards Allahabad Gate (Entrencement Road), from Secunderabad Club, Picket/West Marredpally towards Wellington Enclave (Wellington road), from Safilguda junction towards Safilguda railway crossing (Ordnance Road) and Mornington Road from February 25 and from March 10 these ways will be permanently shut.

The Police department and Army officials have held discussions on Monday evening but they failed to come to a solution. Meanwhile, the residents are worried and also have protested on Sunday against the Army's ban. General Officer Commanding of Andhra Sub Area, Major General C A Pithawala said, “with heavy traffic on these roads, our training sessions are getting disturbed and we are left with the only option of banning these ways.”

With no solution in talks of the authorities, Army has decided to go ahead with its ban. From February 25th vehicles between 10 PM and 8 AM are completely restricted in the mentioned region.
