India's First Citizen day July 25

As the Republic of India's 13th President, Pranab Mukherjee takes his oath in the Central Hall of Parliament, on Wednesday. An interesting fact that should surprise us all a lot is brought forth to all our ardent readers by the Wishesh statistics department. Among the 13 Presidents including His Excellency Honorable Shri Pranab Mukherjee Ji, eight Presidents  from Dr Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy took their oath for the esteemed office on this day. Hence the experts of Wishesh felt it right to call this day as India's First Citizen day.

The list starts from the sixth President Dr Reddy who was also the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. And he was the first President from the Janata Party, and probably the first non-Congress man to helm the topmost office in Republic of India.

Sixth President  His Excellency Honorable Shri N Sanjeeva Reddy Ji held the Office from 25 July 1977 to 25 July 1982

Seventh President  His Excellency Honorable Shri Giani Zail Singh Ji  held the Office from 25 July 1982 to 25 July 1987

Eighth President  His Excellency Honorable Shri Ramaswamy Venkataraman Ji  held the Office from 25 July 1987 to 25 July 1992

Ninth President  His Excellency Honorable Shri Shankar Dayal Sharma Ji held the Office from 25 July 1992 to 25 July 1997

Tenth President  His Excellency Honorable Shri Kocheril Raman Narayanan Ji  held the Office from 25 July 1997 to 25 July 2002

Eleventh President  His Excellency Honorable Shri A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Ji held the Office from 25 July 2002 to 25 July 2007

Twelfth President  Her Excellency Honorable Shrimati Pratibha Patil Ji held the Office from  25 July 2007 to 25 July 2012

And today we have the Thirteenth President His Excellency Honorable Shri Pranab Mukherjee Ji take office at 11.30 am. The Incumbent President's day shall starts with a visit to pay respects to the Rajghat, Shakti Sthal and Veer Bhumi. From there he would drive down to the Rashtrapathi Office and meet his predecessor Her Excellency Honourable Shrimati Pratibha Patil Ji, who will preside over her final guard of honour.

Precisely at 11.30 am Chief Justice S H Kapadia will administer the oath to the new President in the presence of the esteemed dignitaries. The prominent among them would be the Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Union Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers. Then His Excellency Honourable Shri Pranab Mukherjee Ji will be given a 21-gun salute. His Excellency shall address the gathering and then leave for the Rashtrapati Bhawan with Patil.

At the Rashtrapathi Bhavan His Excellency Honourable Shri Pranab Mukherjee Ji  will be given an inter-services guard of honour in the forecourt of the Presidential palace. Later the Present President shall escort the former president to her temporary accommodation on Tughlak Lane where she will stay till her post-retirement home in Pune is ready.

Wishesh with all its readers strength wishes the Republic of India's new President His Excellency Honourable Shri Pranab Mukherjee Ji a successful endeavor.
