Facelift for Sangeet Tarnaka Road

Here is some good news for those who love the city of Hyderabad! And surely the sweetest news for those who regularly drive in the disgusted traffic with innumerable traffic woes between Sangeet and Tarnanka centers!

You know very well that the road widening work between these two important city junctions came to a grinding halt two years ago midway due to the uncompromising stand of the South Central Railway (SCR) which owns and operates most of the buildings on this dense road. Now, the work will resume shortly.
Because of the stoppage of this work, motorists trafficking between the two points have been suffering a lot.

Believe it or not, this has become the most unwanted route to drive in Hyderabad. But, now they are going to heave a sigh of relief.

At long last, the SCR and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) came to an understanding on the compensation to be paid towards the demolition of numerous buildings and workshops owned by the Railways paving the way for the resumption of the road widening work.

The two parties have reached an agreement on the compensation amount to be paid. It has come to light that the Railway officials have agreed to the “structural compensation package” offered by the state Government.

The GHMC additional commissioner, Mr K. Dhanunjaya Reddy, confirmed to media persons that the structural compensation amount works out to Rs 1.95 Cr.
