Jagananna Aarogya Suraksha (JAS) Phase 2 to be launched Today:- Today marks the commencement of Phase II of the Jagananna Aarogya Suraksha (JAS) program, setting the stage for its grand launch. This government initiative is centered around the provision of preventive medical care and the realization of the Aarogya Andhra Pradesh vision. In the initial phase, approximately 6 million individuals were included within the program's coverage over a span of 50 days. Both rural and urban areas witnessed a total of 145 lakh households being visited, with 64.5 lakh medical tests being conducted directly at people's doorsteps. Additionally, 12,423 health camps were organized as part of this program. As a result, a total of 1,64,982 patients were referred to Dr YSR Aarogyasri network hospitals, where they received free further treatment.

Furthermore, these patients were given a sum of ₹500 to assist with transportation and other expenses. The entire process is effectively monitored through the use of an application. Encouraged by the success of JAS Phase I, the government has made the decision to implement Phase II continuously across all mandals and urban local bodies for a duration of six months, encompassing all village and ward secretariats within the state. The second phase will extend coverage to all households, with a specific focus on chronic patients, pregnant women and new mothers, neonatal and infant care, and adolescent health.

To ensure that patients receive the necessary follow-up care and have access to medication in their own villages, the CHO/ANM will be responsible for guiding them through the process. This program will be implemented in three stages: volunteers will communicate the details of the health camps, the camps themselves will take place, and then there will be follow-up for referred cases.

Over the course of six months, a total of 13,954 JAS II health camps will be conducted. Of these, 10,032 will be held in rural areas and 3,922 in urban areas. Officials have stated that 3,583 camps should be conducted in January as part of the JAS II program.
