KCR to contest from Kamareddy?:- Telangana chief minister KCR is to leave his constituency Gajwel and plans to contest from Kamareddy assembly constituency in upcoming assembly elections.

KCR won four times from Siddipet as a TDP candidate in United Andhra Pradesh and also once as a TRS leader. He won from both Karimnagar and Mahbubnagar to Lok Sabha. KCR is contesting from Gajwel since the district was formed in 2014.

Pratap Reddy Vanteru is KCR’s opposition leader in Gajwel. He never sustained to get more than 70,000 votes from the last two elections, But it was always a tough call for KCR to win against Pratap Reddy of TDP. KCR has polled 60 per cent of votes in the total votes in the 2018 elections. Pratap Reddy polled 67,154 votes in 2018, whereas KCR polled 125,444 votes. But in 2014, KCR got 86,694 votes and Pratap Reddy managed to get 67,303 votes. Gajwel is a strong base for Congress, Dr J Geeta Reddy has won two times from Gajwel and Tumkunta Narsa Reddy also won once from Gajwel.

Upon the changing mood of the Telangana voters, sources claim that KCR was suggested to leave the Gajwel constituency for the next election. Siddipet is a safe play, but Harish Rao is a sitting MLA and there is less chance for KCR to convince him. Dubbak is again a risky hit and after all the better calculations, KCR might contest from Kamareddy. This will also impact the nearby districts and will bring a positive outcome for BRS.
