GO 111 scrapped in 84 villages of Telangana:- As announced by Telangana Chief Minister KCR, the GO 111 that brought restrictions in 84 villages of Telangana is now scrapped. The MAUD Department issued GO 69 lifting various restrictions under para 3 of GO 111. All the concretisation works in 84 villages spread across 10-km radius surrounding the villages of Himayatsagar and Osmansagar are open now. A committee headed by Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar will frame the guidelines and submit a report at the earliest to the government about the nine terms of reference. The GO 69 stated that the water quality of the reservoirs should not be impacted or disturbed.

"The government has decided that the restrictions imposed under para 3 of GO Ms 111 are removed, subject to the condition that the water quality of these two reservoirs shall not be impacted in any manner whatsoever and all efforts will be initiated by the government to improve the water quality of these two reservoirs" told the official GO. It was mentioned that when GO 111 was issued, the two reservoirs accounted to 27.59 percent of the installed capacity of drinking water. The rivers are not used for drinking water source in Hyderabad. There was nothing mentioned about the flood control aspect of the reservoirs.
