Andhra Pradesh government announces Power Holiday in the state:- The summer season is here and the consumption of electricity is increased all over because of the scorching heat. Severe power cuts are imposed and the government is badly criticized. Several videos from the hospitals are surfaced where the infants are struggling because of the imposed power cuts. Now the government of Andhra Pradesh announced a power holiday in the state from April 8th to 22nd. There would be restricted power sullply for the commercial establishments and industries in the districts of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram under the purview of Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited of Andhra Pradesh (APEPDCL).

APEPDCL CMD K. Santosha Rao said that the power holiday has been announced for better power supply for the households and agriculture. 2000 MW of power is available when the requirement is 14,000 MW from 6 PM to 6 AM. The AP government decided to adopt Emergency Load Relief. AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wanted uninterrupted power supply for households and farmers across the state. The industries are asked to utilize only 50 percent of their demand per day. The other industries are asked to declare power holiday and only one work shift will be followed because of these restrictions. The government also ordered to use half of the air-conditioners in government offices, shopping malls, commercial spaces and private organizations. All the billboards and signboards are asked not to use power from 6 PM to 6 AM.
