India's New Coronavirus Tally At 1,79,723:- A total number of 1,79,723 new cases of coronavirus are reported in the country in the last 24 hours and the active cases, positivity rate reached an all-time high in the recent times. The active cases of coronavirus in India are 7,23,619 and the daily positivity rate climbed to 13.29 percent in India. 146 people passed away in India in the last 24 hours and the Omicron tally in India crossed 4000 mark. Maharashtra is leading the list with 1216 Omicron cases and is followed by Rajasthan (529), Delhi (513) and Karnataka (441). The third dose of coronavirus vaccine will be administered for the people aged above 60 with health complications and frontline workers, healthcare workers. As per the reports, more than 300 police personnel in Delhi are tested positive for coronavirus in the national capital alone.

The active case count too has seen a huge rise in the recent week and it is 2.03 percent of the total reported tally of cases. New Delhi reported 22,751 coronavirus cases, Mumbai reported 19,474 new cases, Bengaluru has 9020 cases, Chennai reported 6186 cases and Kolkata has 8712 new cases of coronavirus cases. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting with the Health Officials yesterday to review the Covid-19 situation in the country. He will also chair a meeting with all the Chief Ministers and take suggestions about the coronavirus in India. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will also interact with the Health ministers of all the states today. The new cases of coronavirus in AP and Telangana too saw a decent rise.
