Indian Omicron Variant Cases Toll Reaches 171:- Despite imposing lot of restrictions for the travelers arriving outside the country, the number of Omicron variant cases in India reached 171. Maharashtra (54), Delhi (28), Rajasthan (17) and Karnataka (19), Telangana (20), Gujarat (11), Kerala (15), Andhra Pradesh (1), Chandigarh (1), Tamil Nadu (1) and West Bengal (4) reported the cases of Omicron variant. Arvind Kejriwal urged the Centre to allow booster doses for those who are fully vaccinated. Six new cases of Omicron variant are reported in Delhi today and Kerala reported 4 new cases. Till date, no death due to the Omicron variant is reported and 12 people recovered completely and got discharged.

Arvind Kejriwal said that all the samples of the positive cases will be sent for genome sequencing to detect the presence of the Omicron variant as the spread due to this variant is huge. India reported 6563 new cases of coronavirus and 132 people died yesterday. 8077 people recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours and there are 82,267 people recovered in the last 24 hours as per the reports from the Union Health Ministry. A study based in UK said that there is no evidence that Omicron has lower severity than the Delta variant. For now, the new variant is all over the world and several countries reported high number of new cases.
