KCR to take a Crucial Call on RTC and Electricity Charges

KCR to take a Crucial Call on RTC and Electricity Charges:- The entire nation is shattered after the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic. The states and the governments are left under financial pressure and they are struggling hard to bring the state back to the track. During the recent cabinet meeting, the discussion about the increase in the RTC and electricity charges came to discussion. The ministers wanted KCR to take the call on the hike in the charges and KCR said that he would take the final call after discussing it with the Telangana cabinet in the upcoming meeting. KCR met the officials and ministers yesterday in Pragathi Bhavan and the meeting went on for three hours.

Ministers KTR, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Jagadish Reddy, RTC Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Sunil Sharma, Ramakrishna Rao, RTC MD Sajjanar, Transco CMD Prabhakar Rao attended the meeting chaired by KCR. The discussion about the impact of coronavirus along with the rise in the charges of petrol and diesel impacting the transport system is discussed. Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar said that the increase in the petrol and diesel charges brought an additional burden of Rs 550 crores on TSRTC. The lockdown brought a loss of Rs 3000 crores for TSRTC told the minister.

Telangana cabinet announced that the charges of TSRTC will be hiked in March 2020 but the decision was pending due to the coronavirus pandemic. KCR promised to take the decision at the right time for TSRTC. The electricity charges aren't revised in the state from the past six years and KCR will take the call on increasing the electricity charges soon.
