KCR Approves Quota To Set Up Liquor Shops

KCR Approves Quota To Set Up Liquor Shops:- The Dalits along with the other backward castes of Telangana are getting enough boost in the state. The state government announced Dalit Bandhu and each family from the caste gets Rs 10 lakhs as financial aid. This would benefit close to 13 lakh families in the state. Telangana Chief Minister KCR announced that the other backward castes in the state will get similar benefits and the scheme will be expanded in the state. The government of Telangana now announced that special reservations will be given for the backward castes, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes to set up liquor shops. The move will be implemented from November 1st after the new excise year begins in Telangana.

A cabinet meeting was held yesterday and it was chaired by KCR during which the decision was taken. Fifteen percent reservation will be given for BCs (Gowdas), 10 percent reservation for the SCs and 5 percent reservation for the STs. The Telangana government is giving licenses for 2216 liquor shops in the state. The selected sections will get 554 shops and the license will be valid for two years. There are also talks that there would be 200 new liquor shops coming to the state from November this year. Then the above mentioned categories will get 50 more liquor shops. Rs 100 crores is allocated to repair the roads across the state that are damaged due to the heavy rains in Telangana. The medical and health departments are asked to speed up the plans to set up new medical colleges in the state.
