Vaccines and Medicines to be Delivered Through Drones in Telangana:- The government of Telangana began the trials for the delivery of the coronavirus vaccines and medicines along with the medical samples and healthcare items in the state from today. The trial version will conclude on October 17th. Blue Dart in association with a drone delivery startup 'Skye Air Mobility' will conduct the trials and the project is named 'Medicine from the Sky'. Telangana is the first Indian state to begin trials of Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drones to deliver medicines and vaccines. Drones will fly for 500-700 metres from the base during the first two days of trials. They can be seen with a naked eye.

The drones that are operated through Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) can carry the medicines and vaccines for 9-10 kms from September 11th as per the official word. Blue Dart Managing Director Balfour Manuel said that the vaccination process through drones is a new stepping stone in the country. Skye Air Mobility Co-founder Swapnik Jakkampundi said that this is the right time for the drones to be used for various uses in aerial technology and favorable government policy. The trials will continue till October 17th in Telangana. The government of Telangana has been keen to support new paths to deliver the medicines and vaccines. The consignments of vaccines, medical samples and medicines will be transported through drones and will reach the desired locations.
