Telangana celebrates its seventh formation day in a low key affair

Telangana celebrates its seventh formation day in a low key affair:- The state of Telangana was merged with Andhra Pradesh in the year 1956 in November after the people of Telugu got separated from Madras. The people and leaders of Telangana have fought for a separate state for years and the state of Telangana was formed on June 2nd, 2014 and today marks the seventh formation day of the state. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao extended his wishes to the people of the state on the occasion after many battles and sacrifices. It is heard that the struggle for the separate state started in 1955 even before the state got separated from Madras. Violent protests took place in 1969 and 1972. The protests gained momentum in the year 1997 after BJP extended their support for the movement.

KCR formed Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) in the year 2001. Congress President Sonia Gandhi announced a separate state respecting the sentiments of the people of Telangana. With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the state government decided to celebrate the occasion in a low key affair. The Telangana government issued a series of instructions about the celebrations of the Formation Day. Any event celebrated should not exceed more than 10 people. The Flag Code 2002 will be followed and there should be no use of plastic flags informed the government. KCR, KTR, Harish Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and others hoisted the national flags in their respective constituencies following all the issued guidelines.
