India reported 2,67,334 new cases of coronavirus in the country in the last 24 hours and the new cases have been slowly sliding down. But the death tally is completely alarming. 4529 people passed away in the country in the last 24 hours as per the reports from the Union Health Ministry. 3,89,851 people recovered and discharged from the hospital in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases reached 2,54,96,330 and the total number of discharges stands at 2,19,86,363. The death tally reached 2,83,248 and there are 32,26,719 active cases for coronavirus in India. The total number of Indians who received vaccination are at 18,58,09,302.
Tamil Nadu continues to be the most impacted state due to coronavirus. The Indian government said that more than 200 districts witnessed a huge decline in the number of new cases for coronavirus. There is a decline in the new cases by 13 percent in India in a week but the infections continued to be the highest in the country along with the death tally which is the highest. BJP MLA Gotam Lal Meena passed away due to coronavirus today in a private hospital in Udaipur. The government of Telangana extended the lockdown in the country till May 30th and all the restrictions will continue as announced earlier. There would be relaxations between 6 AM and 10 AM on a regular basis.
The government of Karnataka announced a coronavirus relief package of Rs 1250 crores immediately. The total number of samples tested for coronavirus in India are said to be 32,03,01,177 till date and the samples tested yesterday are 20,08,296.
