Coronavirus new cases on a record high:- The new cases of coronavirus in the country are increasing again at a rapid speed. The total number of new cases reported in the country in the last 24 hours are said to be 39,726 and the total tally stands at 1,15,14,331. 154 people passed away in the country in the last one day and total death tally in the country reached 1,59,370. The daily reported cases are around 10,000 in December and the cases kept increasing in the recent weeks. Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka and Gujarat are the states that reported a high number of cases in the country. The total number of recoveries in the country are 1,10,83,679. The number of active cases increased to 2,71,282 in the country which happens to be 2.2 percent of the total caseload in India.

The recovery rate in the country stands at 96.41 percent and as per the reports coming from the Union Health Ministry, about 3.71 crores people took the vaccine for coronavirus in India. The global tally of coronavirus cases are at 12.17 crores and 26.89 lakh people died of coronavirus. Maharashtra reported 25,833 cases yesterday which the highest in the state till date. It was on September 11th last year, Maharasthra reported 24,886 cases. 58 people passed away in the state in the last one day and 12,764 people recovered from coronavirus. Madhya Pradesh banned buses to and from Maharashtra to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the state. Mumbai city alone reported 2877 cases of coronavirus which is the highest in the city after the pandemic started.

As per the reports coming from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of tests conducted in the country are said to be 23,13,70,546 and the tests conducted yesterday are said to be 10,57,383. Cricketer Chris Gayle has thanked India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sending the vaccine for coronavirus to Jamaica. Gayle thanked the Prime Minister through a video message.
