All Roads cleared for Nirav Modi's Extradition to India:- Indian jeweler and businessman Nirav Modi has been absconding from the country after he committed a fraud of Rs 14,000 crores to Indian banks. He was traced in the United Kingdom and is taken into the custody. The Indian government has been trying hard to extradite him back to the country. A United Kingdom based court today ordered the extradition of Nirav Modi after a legal battle that lasted for two and a half years. The UK court accepted that he threatened the witnesses and tampered the evidence in the case. District Judge Samuel Goozee at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court accepted the evidence.

The UK Court said that they are completely satisfied with the evidence and he could be convicted. The Magistrate also said that they were satisfied with the detention condition in India. “Conditions in Barack 12 look far better than his current cell in London,” told the court. The medical arrangements in India too are accepted commented the court. Nirav Modi is lodged in a London prison after he is facing charges of fraud and money laundering. Nirav Modi owes Rs 14,000 crores to Punjab National Bank and its allies. Nirav was asked to appear through a video conference from Wandsworth Prison that is located in the south-west London. The ruling will be sent to UK Home Secretary Priti Patel for a sign-off.

This happens to be one of the high-profile extraditions back to India. Kingfisher Airlines boss Vijay Mallya too is in the United Kingdom and is on a bail and his case of extradition is in the UK Court.
