Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar Vs Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy Before AP Panchayat Polls:- The atmosphere across Andhra Pradesh is heating up before the local body polls. But the competition is not between the ruling AP government and the opposition parties. It is between the leading YSRCP and the State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. After the state High Court asked the State Election Commission to go ahead with the polls, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar is quite aggressive with his plans. The State Election Commission ordered the house arrest of AP Panchayatraj Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. He was asked not to speak to the media till February 21st.

This did not go well with Peddireddy and he slammed Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar saying that he would pay the price for his acts. Before this, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy accused the State Election Commissioner Ramesh Kumar of threatening the district collectors and the returning officers by misusing the power. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy asked the officials to discharge their duties as per the rules and guidelines. This created tensed atmosphere after the statement made by Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. The Panchayat polls in Andhra Pradesh will take place in phases this month.
