Vaccination Drive: Two People Report Mild Stomach Ache In India:- The vaccination drive for coronavirus across the country commenced on January 16th and several health workers are taking the vaccination in the first phase. Two cases of Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) are reported in the first two days of the vaccination drive. Both these cases are reported in Udipi and one is from TMA Pai Hospital while the other one is from Urban Health Centre in the city. Both these people had mild symptoms with mild stomach ache informed DHO Dr Sudhirchandra Sooda. These are maybe due to anxiety, apprehension and both the patients are said to be doing fine.

The health team is monitoring their health status and the vaccination program will continue as per the schedule. 40 others received the vaccine from TMA Pai Hospital on Sunday. Four new cases of coronavirus are reported in Udipi district on Sunday and the total number of positive cases are at 23,222. The death tally in Udipi district is at 189 and the district health officials have planned special sessions at the district government hospital in Ajjarakad and at the Urban Health Center, Udipi. 200 frontline workers from the district will take up the vaccination on Monday.
