Telangana Government Slashes Property Tax by 50 percent:- In a huge relief, the government of Telangana slashed down the property tax for the current year by 50 percent for the urban regions of the state as the people are suffering from coronavirus. The announcement was made as a Diwali gift for the people by the Chief Minister KCR. The relief is announced only for the domestic category of taxpayers up to Rs 15,000 in the limits of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Rs 10,000 across 141 municipalities of Telangana. All those who made the payments for the current year will have tax adjustments for the next year told KTR, the state's Municipal Administration Minister.

KCR spoke about this in a media conference that 13.72 lakh house owners in the limits of GHMC and 17.68 lakh house owners across 141 municipalities will get benefits from this. Rs 196.48 crores is the relief in GHMC while the other municipalities would get Rs 130 crores relief because of the 50 percent tax discount. The total is said to be Rs 326.48 crores. KCR also said that all those who did not get the flood relief fund of Rs 10,000 can visit the nearest Mee Seva centers and make a payment of Rs 20 to get the amount delivered to their doorstep by the officials.

The amount can also be deposited in their bank accounts if the needed account numbers are furnished. The government disbursed Rs 470 crores out of the Rs 550 crores promised by the Telangana government. KCR also announced that the salaries of the sanitation workers have been increased from Rs 14,500 to Rs 17,500.
