Andhra Pradesh To Have 26 Districts?:- Andhra Pradesh government has been keen to increase the number of districts in the state ever since YSRCP took charge. The cabinet meeting took place today and this happened to be the key issue that was discussed. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy during his election manifesto made a promise that every Parliament constituency in the state would be made as a district so that there would be ample development in the state. Now the state government decided to have 26 districts in the state.

Araku will be made into two districts after the state government received so many proposals. All the 25 Parliament constituencies will be made as districts. The State's Principal Secretary will take care of these developments. CCLA Commissioner, GAD Service Secretary, Planning Secretary and an official from the Chief Minister's office will be the key members in the committee. A complete report will be submitted by the committee after which the new districts will be announced by the government of Andhra Pradesh.

YS Jagan collected the feedback and he formed a committee to share the feedback before making the final call on the number of districts. It is unclear if the committee visits the districts and collects the information, feedback or if they take the final call as per the information from the state legislators. Some of the leaders from YSRCP have been against the move of districts. YS Jagan is expected to take the final call as per the report from the committee in the next cabinet meeting. The state's cabinet met today to take crucial decisions about other issues like capital shifting to Vizag, distribution of house pattas, solar power projects and other development programs that are implemented in Andhra Pradesh.
