USA Bars Entry Of High-Skilled Workers Till The End Of 2020

USA Bars Entry Of High-Skilled Workers Till The End Of 2020:- Donald Trump, the American President already hinted at making some huge changes to the visa structure after the coronavirus pandemic as lakhs of Americans lost their jobs. The suspension of work visas including H-1B type and others are completely barred till the end of this year. A White House official said that Donald Trump is keen on getting the Americans back to work. The visas that are subjected to freeze are said to be H-4 (for H-1B spouses), L1 (for intracompany transfers) and J1 (doctors, researchers) along with H-1B visas.

Calling it 'America-first recovery', Donald Trump is keen to restrict the entry of foreign workers into the country because of which over half-a-million jobs would be available for locals. Donald Trump will sign an executive order to widen 60-day freeze on the new work permits for non-US citizens. The ban on foreign workers is now extended to the end of this year. This move comes as a jolt for Indian IT professionals as H-1B visas are used by them to save the labor costs in the country.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai says "Immigration has contributed immensely to America’s economic success, making it a global leader in tech, and also Google the company it is today. Disappointed by today’s proclamation - we’ll continue to stand with immigrants and work to expand opportunity for all". If a person is staying in USA on H-1B visa, he should leave the country within two months after losing his employment. As per the records, there are 3,09,986 Indians working on H-1B visas in USA.
