300 Doctors Of Gandhi Hospital Skip Duties After An Attack On A Medico:- The attendees of a deceased patient rammed into Gandhi Hospital last night and attacked the doctor who was on duty. The incident took place after a 55-year-old coronavirus patient passed away. They destroyed the furniture and attacked the medico who was on duty with an iron stool. The doctor suffered minor injuries and the cops were informed. The other doctors and nurses rushed to stop the attack. After this attack, 300 PG doctors who are on duty treating the coronavirus patients at Gandhi Hospital refused to work until their demands are met.
They staged protests outside the premises. Telangana Health Minister Etela Rajendar reached the doctors and started negotiations. The doctors wanted to visit the hospital to know the ground reality happening in the Gandhi Hospital. The 55-year-old patient was admitted after he was suffering from mild respiratory failure. The doctors explained about his health condition to their family. The patient went to the washroom by removing the CPAP mask and he suffered cardiac arrest. The patient passed away on Tuesday at 7.30 PM.
The attendees of the patient attacked the doctor on duty. This happens to be the second attack on doctors and they decided not to attend the duties until their demands are met. Dr Lohith, President of Gandhi Junior Doctors Association in Hyderabad said that they cannot silent after being attacked. He demanded SPF for all the doctors saying the hospital is not following the guidelines of ICMR.
