Supreme Court To Take Video Conferencing For Urgent Cases:- Amid coronavirus scare, the whole globe is heading for a lockdown. After it was successfully implemented in India, several state governments called for a complete lockdown till March 31st. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the people to co-operate well for the lockdown. The Chief Justice of India today announced to hold all the important proceedings through video conferencing and avoid the physical appearance of lawyers in the Supreme Court. All the important matters will be heard once a week in these crucial situations.
The Supreme Court as of now decided to put the physical courtrooms a miss. All the urgent cases will be taken for hearing once a week by the Supreme Court. The mentioning officer will finalize the cases depending on the priority and the Supreme Court asked the lawyers to approach the mentioning officer. All the lawyers' chambers will be sealed by the evening of Tuesday and they are asked to be vacated as per the instructions from the Chief Justice of the country. The Supreme Court already took up some of the cases which will be heard through video conferencing soon.
