Article 370 Cancelled: Historic Move by Modi Government:- The Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday moved a resolution in Rajya Sabha that all the clauses of Article 370 will be cancelled and will not be applicable for Jammu and Kashmir. Amit Shah announced in the Rajya Sabha that Article 370 will be revoked from the day of President's assent. Soon Indian President Ramnath Kovind approved the bill and cancelled Article 370. Rajya Sabha witnessed massive uproar as the opposition parties slammed the Centre on such move.

The entire Kashmir is currently under 144 section. Article 370 has been the bone of contention between the Jammu and Kashmir's politicians and the BJP. The law allows the state's Assembly to make its own constitution. Earlier, the crucial Union Cabinet met at the official residence of Prime Minister in New Delhi on Monday morning. Kashmir leaders Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Sajad Lone were kept under house arrest. Section 144 has been imposed in Jammu and Kashmir.
