Doctors to Boycott Health Services Today:- The doctors across the country called it a black day after the National Medical Commission Bill got passed in Rajya Sabha yesterday. All the medical services across the country will be stalled after the move. The Bill is to set up a National Medical Commission that will replace the Medical Council of India. This will develop and regulate all the aspects of medical education, institutions and profession.

This process was highly opposed as it would give licenses to 3.5 lakh unqualified and non-medical persons to practice modern medicine. Central Minister Harsha Vardhan moved the bill which gives more power to the Centre. Congress and SP badly opposed the move as they felt that this would be an institutionalize quackery. National Medical Commission will be the regulator of private medical college fees. Centre argues that a proper fee regulating authority is needed or else seats will be allocated for all those who can buy them.
