Country Kept on High Alert: Lok Sabha Results today: The biggest democracy India completed the Lok Sabha polls in seven phases and is heading for counting today. The counting starts at 8 AM and the final results (numbers) would be out by evening. The Election Commission officials made all the necessary arrangements for the counting. Over 8049 candidates are testing their luck for 542 Lok Sabha seats. Most of the exit polls predicted that NDA alliance would return back to power and the opposition parties slammed exit polls calling them fake predictions.

The Union Ministry alerted the entire country before the counting. It asked all the state governments to maintain law and order along with peace as there is a chance of violence to be triggered in some of the states. Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Tripura and West Bengal are kept on high alert. The central security agencies have been deployed in sensitive regions before counting. The process starts at 8AM with postal ballots counting and the first EVM will be brought on to count at 8.20 AM.
