High Court Slams AP Government In Panchayat Elections Row:- The High Court of Telugu states today ordered the Government of Andhra Pradesh to conduct the Panchayat elections within three months. A petition has been filed by former sarpanchs after they questioned the validity of GO issued by the Andhra Pradesh Government. In the month of August, AP Government issued a GO (GO 90) after they appointed special officers across all the panchayats in the state. Officers from several departments have been assigned the duties.

AP Government has been badly criticized for the GO. Some of the former Sarpanchs moved to High Court and filed a petition questioning the GO 90. The High Court slammed AP Government and asked them to conduct elections in three months. The Panchayat elections in Andhra Pradesh should be conducted before January 2019.
