Naidu’s Piquant Situation Over Revanth Reddy’s Resignation Letter: Telangana Telugu Desam Party leader and Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy sent his resignation letter, two days earlier, to party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

However, as it does not matter for Revanth Reddy whether Naidu accepts his resignation or not, and hence there is no issue over his resignation from the primary membership of the party. Revanth Reddy is all set to join the Congress party on October 31. But to everyone’s surprise Naidu has been sitting over Revanth’s letter. He said he was resigning from the assembly membership as well.

The resignation letter was submitted by Revanth in the  Speaker’s format. But, instead of sending the letter to the Speaker directly, he sent it to the party president asking him to forwards the same to the Speaker. Well, this indeed was a clever move of him. This has landed Naidu in a piquant situation.

As part of the rule, Naidu has to forward the resignation letter to the Speaker and ask him to accept the same. Also, Revanth’s letter should be forwarded to the Speaker By Naidu, asking him to disqualify Revanth, alternatively. But, the TDP president is neither doing the both. Naidu will be under pressure to seek the resignations of 21 YSRC MLAs who defected to the TDP in Andhra Pradesh, if he forwards Revanth’s resignation to the Telangana assembly Speaker.

Moreover, Naidu should ask the TDP MLAs who defected to the TRS, to resign from their posts, in Telangana too. However, Naidu seems to be caught in a fix now and he cannot act against Revanth and if he does, he will be exposed.
