Dera Violence Mastermind, Two Followers Of Ram Rahim Arrested:- The mastermind of Dera violence, Chamkaur Singh has been arrested. Singh is accused of paying Rs 5 crore to hire the criminal elements, to instigate violence in Panchkula on August 25, on the day when Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted.

The arrests of two other accused, Karamjeet Singh and Daan Singh have also been made. Karamjeet Singh, a Punjab Police commando who directed other commandos to whisk away Gurmeet Ram Rahim on August 25. While Daan Singh is accused of bringing the cash from Panchkula to Sirsa.

The revelations in connection with the ‘supari’ case to instigate violence were made by some Dera followers arrested on August 25 when they were interrogated by the Haryana Police. Meanwhile, Haryana Police chief BS Sandhu had confirmed that the police were investigating the allegations made against Dera Sacha Sauda.

Besides Chamkaur Singh, Dr PR Nain, a retired chief medical officer who handles Dera’s financial matters and a former Dera Manager, is also wanted in the alleged “supari” case. Chamkaur is in-charge of Panchkula Dera (Nam Charcha Ghar). The police had sent teams to arrest Dr PR Nain.

As per the investigation so far, it revealed that Chamkaur had gone to Sirsa to bring the cash which was given to him by Nain. Dera sources said the money was provided to manage the crowd, their food and transportation. Moreover, to exert a pressure on the administration, some followers were also allegedly hired. The police were also trying to find out how the Dera followers managed to bring the currency at a time when demonetization was in force and carrying cash beyond permitted limits was made possible. Many Dera supporters who provided logistic support to the antisocial elements were also on police radar.

One prominent horticulture firm, apart from the Dera headquarters had also allegedly provided monetary support to the Dera goons who torched media and other vehicles besides damaging the public properties during the violence.

The Ambala police had also recovered Rs 38 lakh from a Dera follower, last week. He was a member of Qurbani Dal. The investigations have revealed that Dera on the directions of its jailed chief had created a sacrifice wing called as the Qurbani Dal.
