Congress, TDP To Join Hands Against TRS For A Cause

Congress, TDP To Join Hands Against TRS For A Cause:- The Congress and TDP (Telugu Desam Party) have witnessed glory, ruled the undivided Andhra Pradesh and have been rivals since TDP was founded in 1982 by the then actor turned politician Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao.

After Andhra Pradesh was divided into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in 2014, both the parties lost their grip in the political scenario. Two major regional parties of TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) in Telangana and YSRCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) in Andhra Pradesh dominated the political scene, later on.

Though TDP formed government and is ruling AP, both TDP and Congress lost face and their stand in Telangana with the growing emergence and popularity of TRS. Both the parties lack the power of a strong opposition with the ruling TRS government winning the maximum seats in Telangana in the 2014 elections. Now the two rivals plan to join hands with Congress to fight against the unfounded move, of building a new secretariat at Bison Polo ground in Secunderabad.

An open letter has been penned down to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, by T-TDP working president A Revanth Reddy, asking him to give up on the proposal. He suggested to reallocate the money for the new building to construct 2BHK houses for poor people.

It may be recalled that the blue print of the secretariat was released after securing ownership of Bison Polo Grounds from the Union Defence Ministry. Mr.Reddy said that Mr.Rao decided to construct a new building which is Vaastu Compliant as he aspires to Minister of IT K T Rama Rao adorning the Chief Minister’s post. However, the activists have been claiming that it is a wastage of tax payers money and is a selfish motive.
