Pawan Kalyan Seeks Public Support To Fight Uddhanam Disease: Actor-turned politician and Jana Sena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan met with the team of Harvard doctors over Uddanam kidney problems.

Pawan while addressing the gathering at the Visakha convention centre on Sunday, thanked all the medical fraternity for their showing interest for a social cause. To fight the mysterious kidney disease, he even sought public support. The disease has affected villagers of Uddhanam in Srikakulam district. So far, the Uddhanam kidney tragedy has claimed over 4,000 lives and impaired more than 34,000 villagers.

The actor-turned politician said the previous governments have failed to address the issue, that has now assumed alarming proportions. Asserting that he does not want to politicize the issue, the Jana Sena leader clarified that he is helping the public and not the government adding that his fight is for humanity.

Pawan did not even hesitate to say that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has not taken any strict action till date to alleviate the suffering of the Uddhanam villagers. “People should keep their party affiliations aside and work to address this problem,” the actor said while referring to a team of professors and researchers from Harvard University. The expert team will conduct a field study and tour Andhra Pradesh’s Uddhanam region in Srikakulam district. Moreover, the team will examine locals, to try and diagnose the cause for a huge number of cases of kidney-related diseases in the region.
