Telangana IAS Officers Association File Complaint Against Two TRS MLAs:- A complaint has been lodged to the Chief Secretary SP Singh, by Telangana IAS Officers Association against two TRS MLAs, for misbehaving and verbally abusing two collectors in the state.

Shankar Nayak, a member of the Telangana assembly from Mahabubabad had behaved rudely with District Collector Preeti Meena at a public meeting organized during the programme to launch “Harita Haaram”. On the other hand, another MLA from Jangaon, Yadagiri Reddy had verbally abused District Collector Devasena.

Association president and Special Chief Secretary B.P. Acharya, Mahabubabad Collector Preethi Meena and others met Mr Singh and submitted the association’s resolutions on the Mahbubabad incident where the MLA touched Ms Meena and pulled her hand. “They requested that the investigation be entrusted to a woman officer not below the rank of IG.”

Ms Meena briefed the Chief Secretary about Mr Naik’s misbehavior while Mr Acharya spoke about the complaint made by Jangaon collector Devasena about how Mr Yadagiri Reddy had been verbally abusive several times.

Police arrested the MLA Naik on Thursday, following a complaint of the collector Preeti, and later released on bail.

The association has requested Mr Singh to put in place an institutional mechanism whereby such incidents are prevented, and grievances formally addressed. The association also submitted a resolution adopted by it on the incident to the Chief Secretary. The Chief Secretary listened to the issue and thanked all for showing solidarity with the officer. He said that the government will take action according to law. He also said that women should be respected in the society and government will set up an institutional mechanism to prevent such incidents in future by setting up a grievance redress cell.
