KCR Invites Union Forest Minister To Take Part In Haritha Haram:- Telangana Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday invited Union Minister for Forest and Environment Harshvardhan, to take part in the third phase of Haritha Haram.
Haritha Haram is a flag ship programme of the State Government that is scheduled to take off in the first week of July.
Party MPs- Keshava Rao, AP Jithendhar Reddy and G Vinod accompanied the CM, who called on the Union Minister to thank him for environmental clearance accorded to Kaleshwaram phase-I and other irrigation projects in the State. KCR further informed him about the importance of Kaleshwaram project. The project fulfills the professed goal of the TRS Government for extending irrigation facility to over 1 crore acres in the State.
To enable the State make use of 7,920 acres of forest land for the Kaleshwaram project works, the Central government accorded clearance on June 15. Furthermore, the Forest Department advisory committee has given its approval for construction of barrages, tunnels and canals as well as reservoirs including Mallanasagar. Over the Central government’s nod, KCR expressed his happiness and complimented the Union Minister for the positive response to the request made by the State government in this connection.
Mr. KCR also briefed the Minister on the massive plantation drive being implemented for the last three years even covering forest areas with a view to restoring the lost green cover. For responding to the State government’s representations on several issues, the Minister of State for Labor and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, who accompanied the Chief Minister, also thanked Harshavardhan.
The Chief Minister In a separate press release, also recalled the services of the former prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao. On the occasion of his 96th birth anniversary, the Chief Minister said PV was a great administrator and a proud son of Telangana.
