In a shocking incident, a Vizag-based techie was stabbed on Thursday night.
The incident took place when Raviteja came to Hyderabad to meet his brothers. He was wounded by two youths during a brawl over a missing wallet at a bar in Kukatpally on Thursday night.
Raviteja got serious injuries and was hospitalised. He is is out of danger. The police have booked an attempt to murder case against the youths.
Police said that "Raviteja who works for Oracle came to Hyderabad two days ago to meet his brothers Praveen and Rohith who stay at Kukatpally. On Thursday night the trio came to the KB Bar near the Kukatpally Y Junction. While consuming alcohol, Raviteja went to adjust the TV volume, and when he returned to his table he found his wallet missing from the table. He started searching for it on the floor."
"Meanwhile, he saw Vishanth and Naveen who were sitting at the next table leaving. He intercepted them and asked about his purse. They denied knowledge of it, and when he continued to question them, an argument broke out between the duo and Raviteja and his brothers. “One of them broke a beer bottle and stabbed Raviteja in the stomach and other body parts. They also injured Praveen who went to help Raviteja,” Kukatpally inspector K. Purusho-them said.
Police arrested the two youths. Vishanth is working as a sales manager for a mobile service provider and Naveen works as a mechanic in an automobile showroom till a few months ago and is now jobless.
Police also found that a CCTV camera in the area where the fight took place had broken down.
