MBA Student Along with Two Ganja Smugglers Held in Hyderabad

The Rachakonda police in Hyderabad caught two ganja smugglers who were selling ganja to engineering students. Along with those smugglers, an MBA student was also arrested.

The suspects named Prakash Chandra, 24, studying MBA at the St Mary's Engineering College, Kumar Sanu, 25, working for a medical decoding company and Vijay Singh, 27, working as a chef in Mount Opera.

Police also recovered 450 grams of the 3 kg ganja which they had smuggled from Odisha.

Police arrested the trio based on a tip-off and found shocking facts. Prakash and Kumar hail from Odisha while Vijay belongs to Rajasthan.

The Hayathnagar inspector said "a few months ago, Prakash, while coming from Odisha brought with him 3 kg ganja by train and started selling it to customers at Rs 200 a sachet of 8 to 10 grams. The trio was addicted to ganja but after understanding trade secrets they became peddlers and started smuggling it."

He said that "out of the 3 kg which they claim to have smuggled from Odisha, police could seize only 450 grams."

“They would have already sold it in institutions located in the surroundings. These people are only a small part of a huge racket which is in business since years. More people are suspected to be involved in the racket,” he said.

All the three were arrested and they recovered ganja worth Rs 20,000 weighing 450 grams.

Investigations also revealed that Vijay Singh works as a chef in Mount Opera had a customer base which includes names of frequent visitors to the resort and also students from nearby colleges.
