‘Andhra People Will go Mad If they Don’t Drink Alcohol’: Chandrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made some amusing comments on people drinking alcohol. Addressing people at the Nava Nirmana Deeksha week celebrations, he said that Andhra people will go mad if they do not drink alcohol.

He also added that “at a World Environment Day event in the capital saying that whenever a wife and husband quarrel with each other in the western countries, they drink a peg to relax, but our people empty one full bottle, a small peg isn't enough for our people.”

Contradicting to his statement, he also explained people on the importance of healthy environment in his style.

He cautioned people on the consequence of drinking alcohol and requested people not to get addicted to drinking regularly.

Debates and discussions on state bifurcation will be the main agenda. Chandrababu will also be discussing on topics like agriculture, state welfare programes etc.

Naidu said “every citizen in the State should participate in the Deeksha. They should take an oath that they would strive for the development of State. Whether they were on the road or in-house, they should stand up and take the oath.”

The Nava Nirmana Deeksha which started on June 1 was organized at places where the people agitated against Andhra Pradesh bifurcation. Naidu also presented last year’s progress report in the meet.

The government held public awareness programes which will end on June 8.The ultimate programe would be organized in Ongole.
