Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s morphed picture on the internet has proved costly for a 25-year-old youth from Karnataka.

Reportedly, Mohammed Mehboob, who works at a jewellery shop, had posted a morphed image of Modi, in which the PM is shown, touching the feet of AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s brother.

The man has been arrested and booked under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), after considering his post as promoting enmity between different religious groups.

BJP activists had noticed the picture posted on Facebook by Mehboob and then complained to the police, who later took action against the youth.

During the interrogation, Mehboob said that, he had received the picture from his friends, but not personally morphed the photograph.
