Suspension revoked on HCU students

Hyderabad Central University (HCU) has revoked the suspension on all the research students, upon the continuous protests.

As per the sources, the decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the Executive Council of the university and will be communicated soon to the agitating students on campus.

As the students stopped the functioning of the activities of the college for the last four days, to calm down the rising tempers on the campus, this decision was taken, the HCU officials said.

Professor Appa Rao, HCU vice chancellor, who is currently staying away from the university, is also expected to meet the agitating students today.

Reportedly, Rao is living in an undisclosed location as he has been advised by the state police to be away from the campus. It is to be noted that, he has not personally met any of the students on campus ever, right from the suicide news was out.

In November, last year, HCU had expelled five students, who happen to be from the Dalit community, from the hostel and barred access to public places on campus.

However, they were allowed to attend the lectures and pursue their research in HCU.  The students were punished for allegedly assaulting an ABVP student leader on campus.

Even Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal visited the campus and fired on the Centre and declared war against it. After the suspension, the agitations are calmed down to some extent and after VC meets students, a more positive situation is expected.
