Lord Venkateshwara’s ‘Tirupathi’ is one of the world’s popular sacred place. Even the foreigners, visit the temple, for worshipping the lord. Almost every day, thousands of people offer their prayers.

Along with the temple, even Tirupathi ‘Laddu’ has gained huge popularity and the devotees would form long queues for buying these pure ghee-made ‘Laddus’.

This popularity of ‘Laddu’, had violated few miscreants minds, who planned to cash the situation.

Regarding this, they started adulterating the ghee being used in Laddu, by mixing the dalda, prepared with the animal wastes.

For making this low quality ghee, the miscreants even settled in the outskirts of a village called ‘Nekkalam’, which is 30km away from Vijayawada city, and used to prepare ghee at that place.

Intelligently, they used to prepare low quality ghee and sell it, by filling in the pre-collected labels, which had goodwill in the market.

Avula Phani Kumar, being considered as the chief of this gang, was supplying the duplicate ghee, even to the several other cities, along with Tirumala.

In 2013, TTD once ordered the ghee from Phani Kumar, but upon receiving the product, the TTD board felt that, it is not up to the standards of the board and sent it back.

It was since then, Phani Kumar, reportedly, had started sending low quality ghee, to TTD, under a different name.

Meanwhile, TDP leader, Devineni Uma strictly said that, there is no question of sparing anyone, who are behind duplicate ghee racket. Regarding this, he even ordered the collectors and police to inquire and find the details as soon as possible.
