While Amaravathi stone ceremony is going to be held tomorrow and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is attending it, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, raised the issue of special status now.
Naidu said, “Andhra Pradesh has lost a lot after the state bifurcation and is to be constructed everything from the beginning. For this, assuring the special package alone is not sufficient, even special status is necessary.”
“Moreover, special status has now become the sentiment of the people and it is the duty of the government to respect the their sentiments. So as the Centre already promised, it would be better, if it rethinks on the issue,” Naidu added.
He further criticized for the Congress decision of not attending Amaravathi ceremony, saying that, Congress is responsible for all the ills, the state is facing today. It divided the state in a very violent way and created a rivalry environment among the dual state people.

Just before Amaravathi stone ceremony, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to PM Modi seeking the special status. Talking about this, Naidu said that, Rahul should give an explanation of why he wrote to PM, just before a few days of Amaravathi ceremony. Why did not he do that previously, when the people and the AP state governments are fighting for it.
Not stopping there, he even brought YSRCP Jagan Mohan Reddy into the picture and commented on his decision of staying away from Amaravathi ceremony saying, “That shoes his immaturity. Both the Congress and YSRCP do not want a capital for AP and so are acting against the public welfare.”
Took precautions to avoid stampede at Amaravathi ceremony- Naidu
It is known that, how pathetic the situation turned, when a number of people lost their lives in the Godavari Pushkaraalu. At that time, all the oppositions turned against and busted on the government.
Keeping that situation in mind, Naidu said that, not to believe in any rumors created by the oppositions. All the safety precautions are taken for the smooth flow of traffic at Amaravathi ceremony.
Mr Naidu further said, “From 9 am to 12 noon there will be only entry towards Uddandarayapalem. The exit will be only after 1.30 pm and people will be sent through the various roads.”
Finally, tomorrow is the day, which is going to be memorable forever in Andhra Pradesh state’s history and in the people’ hearts. Hope the celebrations would be held grandly, without any disturbances or pathetic situations.
