Pushkaraalu: Special arrangements on second day

“Maha Pushkaraalu” had left a horrifying memory on the first day itself, taking away 27 lives. Basing this various opposition parties had started cursing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and is demanding his resignation.

As of now, the total counts of deaths at the AP Pushkar ghats are 27. The CM had already ordered for special treatment for the pilgrims who fell ill in the Pushkarams and 10 lakhs ex-gratia to the family members of dead victims.  

On the other side, the opposition leaders like Raghuveera Reddy and Chiranjeevi already demanded for the resignation of Naidu from the Chief Minister’s post. After them, now it is the turn of YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Jagan comments on Naidu regarding the Pushkaraalu deaths

Jagan visited the place where the family members of dead victims of Pushkarams are kept and expressed his condolences. Later, speaking to the media, he said “the TDP government has completely failed in conducting the Pushkaraalu. When the celebration is already expected to be big, it is the minimum responsibility of the government to take care of all the arrangements. Their negligence had today taken away the lives of 27 people, so I strongly demand the resignation of Chandrababu Naidu and visit a sacred place to clear this sin.”

Crowd reduced for Pushkaraalu, Officials special arrangements from today

On the other hand, the effect of the deaths can be clearly known at the AP Pushkar ghats on the second day. The officials who earlier expected that, the crowd would be increased day by day, was shocked to see the empty ghats at a few places. However the officials had now got more alerted and started diverting the people to the ghats where the crowd is less.
