Congress MP delays Air India flight

Congress politician Renuka Chowdary shopping spree has led to delay an Air India flight from Delhi to Hyderabad for 45 mins which had Union Minister and Supreme Court Judge on the board.  The delay in flight by the Congress MP irked the passengers and they took up the issue to the Air India authorities. Apparently Renuka Chowdary's baggage had already gone on the flight, it was not possible to retrieve it at the last minute. So Air India had no choice rather than to wait for her arrival.

Denying all the reports, Renuka said, “they have to establish where I went and shopped. What nonsense they are talking?” She added that she requested the Air India officials to provide a cart for her to drop her at the departure gate and they took their time which eventually ended in delay. Air India has ordered a probe in this issue as other passengers complained over this. Following this incident, the Civil Aviation Ministry has also instructed Air India to implement an electronic baggage identification system.

The incident took place last Friday on Air India's Chicago-Delhi-Hyderabad flight AI-126.
