BJP, Congress ready for Medak by poll

The two national parties, BJP and Congress have tightened their shoes for the Medak by elections. TDP had an understanding with BJP and moved out of the poll battle while Congress has decided to go alone without any alliance with even the Left parties. Yesterday, TDP and BJP held discussions regarding various strategies to win the by election at any cost. Telangana BJP president Kishan Reddy said they are confident of winning the Medak seat and would teach the TRS government a lesson. However, Kishan Reddy added that they haven't zeroed upon the candidate.

Congress party in their introspection session yesterday confirmed of going alone instead of teaming with Left parties. Though Digvijaya Singh said he would talk with Telangana CM KCR to leave the seat for Congress party, many leaders were not happy with this. Quite a few Congress leaders opined that the party should battle alone and this would be chance for them to prove their lost glory. Former minister Sunitha Laxma Reddy is leading the race of candidates while former deputy CM Damodara Rajanarasimha wants his wife Padmini Reddy to field from Medak.

On the other hand, the ruling TRS government will finalize its candidate today and will announce officially tomorrow. Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and TNGO leader Devi Prasad are front runners for the seat. As CM KCR returned from the Singapore tour, he is set to seal the candidate name. Whoever may be the candidate, TRS party took this by election prestigious as if they lose it would be a setback for the ruling party.
