Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has said that Polavaram project construction will be completed in the next three years. Yanamala thanked the central government for getting the Polavaram bill approved in the Lok Sabha short while ago. “With this approval, all the hurdles for the Polavaram dam have been cleared and our government will complete this project in three years time which will benefit the people of Uttara Andhra,” said Yanamala.

AP Irrigation Minister Uma Maheshwara Rao also clarified that at any cost Telugu Desam government will complete the construction of Polavaram dam. He also asserted that there won't be any change in the design of dam and people of both regions will benefit with Polavaram.

Meanwhile, Telangana CM KCR has called the Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and officials for an emergency meeting. The government is contemplating to go to Supreme Court on the Polavaram bill.

Now officially 34 thousand families from the seven mandals will be part of the Andhra Pradesh state.
