Seemandhra New Capital in 3-4 years: Jairam

Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh said that the new capital for the residuary Andhra Pradesh will be ready in 3 to 4 years at a plenary session of Confederation of Indian Industry. “Though Hyderabad will be the joint capital of Telangana and AP for 10 years, the new capital will be ready in three to four years,” added Jairam.

The place for the new capital will be decided by a committee in 3 to 4 months time. The minister said the new capital would be developed in the PPP mode and stressed that the creation of Telangana will bring new investments and opportunities in the other state also.

However several local entrepreneurs expressed their displeasure over the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Also they are not happy with funds not being granted to the Seemandhra region. Jairam faced embarrassing moments when all these questions were arised.
