Impact of Extended Service of CS

The chief secretary of the state PK Mohanty's service is extended by four months by Centre.  As Mohanty’s superannuation falls on Friday, the officers have made a list of eligible candidates for the post of CS.  But as Kiran Kumar Reddy who has already resigned from his Chief Minister post denied to deal with the issue, the file was sent to the Governor who cannot deal with it.

But as the President rule in the State was approved by the Union Cabinet Ministers, now the Governor can deal with all the files otherwise done by the elected chief minister and ministers of the state after President rule is officially announced and President delegates those powers to the Governor.  Union Minister Jairam Ramesh conveyed the Cabinet’s decision to the Governor.

The Center is in the view that the CS PK Mohanty who has been working on the bifurcation of employees and assets and liabilities in the wake of bifurcation of the state for which the AP State Reorganization Bill was approved in the Parliament.

As the service of PK Mohanty is extended, he created committees to work on the bifurcation of the employees and officers.  He ordered that six copies of all the files should be made ready and no file should be taken home.  As PK Mohanty is closely monitoring the bifurcation process for which his service was extended, the eligible candidate for the post IYR Krishna Rao who at present is working as the Commissioner of Land Administration got furious for the reasons Center has taken for the extension of Mohanty’s services.  He reportedly went on leave protesting Government’s decision.
